I Flew
With reckless abandon I flew,
over mountains and lakes,
to the clouds above,
to you, your voice, I flew.
With a rush of joy
so great a flow,
lips all wet with tears.
Unable to speak,
even in whispers,
your voice is all I hear.
With sweetness and care
you touch my heart,
upon which, my one hand lays.
To you, I flew…
over and over again,
listening to sweet words you say.
I gasp with intaken breath
as the mist covers my eyes.
I hold my breath in deep,
lips quivering,
waiting for the moment
of sweet release.
To you… I flew
with your voice to guide me,
over sun and moon,
over the stars,
I had wings,
and for a time…
I flew on the breeze.
